Creative support sessions at Ballarat Independent Support are designed to help participants engage in meaningful activities that support their individual NDIS goals.

Sessions focus on four key outcome areas.

1. Confidence and Self Expression

Creative activities provide participants with an opportunity to express their thoughts, ideas and emotions through art.

Participants may build confidence by:

• exploring their creativity

• making independent choices during creative projects

• sharing and celebrating completed artworks

2. Skill Development

Participants are supported to develop practical and creative skills through structured activities.

These may include:

• learning painting techniques

• understanding colour and composition

• planning and completing creative projects

• developing focus and patience

3. Meaningful Engagement

Creative activities provide participants with structured, enjoyable experiences that encourage routine and engagement.

This can support participants to:

• develop hobbies and interests

• participate in purposeful activities

• experience pride in completing creative projects

4. Emotional Wellbeing

Creative activities can support emotional wellbeing by providing participants with a calm and engaging outlet for self-expression.

Participants may benefit from:

• relaxing creative sessions

• focusing on enjoyable activities

• experiencing a sense of achievement

Participant-Centred Support

All creative support sessions are participant-led and adapted to suit individual abilities, interests and goals.

Activities are designed to support engagement, independence and personal achievement while remaining flexible to the participant’s preferences.
